About

Scott searching for the perfect bike fit and lunch stop…

I've been riding and racing both road and mountain bikes since my late teens which has been well over 25 years.  How things have changed over those years - it’s been a continuous cycle of evolution.  I have extensive knowledge of all things bike related having ridden, raced and worked my way through more countries than I have toes. These days I’m happily settled in Hawea, New Zealand, where for over the last 15 years I’ve campaigned rider comfort as paramount and now it has grown to become a stand alone speciality.

I've always been passionate about bike fitting. From yesteryear’s naive exuberance of ‘no pain, no gain’ to today’s science driven methodology. Through our modern understanding of the anatomy and most importantly how it behaves bio-mechanically on a bicycle, we now know how to create comfort that does equal both short term performance and long term health gains. I've learned alongside Dr. Andy Pruitt who pioneered the 3D bike fit, Dr. Roger Minkow who engineered the first body geometry saddles for Specialized and finally Scott Holtz Specialized Global Body Geometry Director to name a few.

Formally I studied Body Geometry Fit to Masters level 2 in Australia and the U.S covering all disciplines - road, mountain biking and triathlon included studies in aero and wind tunnel testing. My network of like minded fitters throughout New Zealand is expansive and I often collaborate with the local physiotherapy, podiatry and sports coaching communities and continue to keep my ear to the ground on the latest theories and equipment.
